NMNWSE member named IEEE Fellow

NMNWSE member Maya B. Gokhale was recently named an IEEE Fellow (effective Jan 1, 2007) for contributions to reconfigurable computing technology. The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest.

Maya leads the Application-Specific Architectures team in the Advanced Computing Lab of Los Alamos National Laboratory, wher she has worked since 1999. Her research interests include high performance embeddable computing, reconfigurable computing, parallel processing, and systems software for high performance systems. She is the author of the first book on Reconfigurable Computing Reconfigurable Computing: Accerating Computation with Field-Programmable Gate Arrays.
