AAUW-New Mexico honors NMNWSE with Mission in Action Award

The New Mexico chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW-NM) is pleased to announce NMNWSE as the first recipient for their Mission in Action Award. The award honors individuals or organizations that support and further the mission of AAUW in the state of New Mexico. AAUW-NM recognizes NMNWSE for supporting women and girls in STEM fields for almost forty years, decades before the term was created.

Sheila Portillo, Awards Chair for AAUW-NM presented the award on April 22, 2017 at AAUW's annual state convention in Los Alamos to Tinka Gammel a LANL scientist and long-time active NMNWSE member. A dozen current and former NMNWSE members were in attendance to celebrate.
