LUNCHTIME TALK SERIES

LAWIS lunchtime Talk and get-together
11:30 am - 1:30 pm, Otowi cafeteria side room C, LANL

Talk at 12:00:

"The Y2K Crisis: Is Your Investment Portfolio Ready?"
Bill Swiderek and Iris Brackett, Prudential Securities Inc.

ABSTRACT

The changing of the millennium may bring worldwide computer problems. If you don't rethink your investment strategy now, your portfolio may be at risk. Those that take proper action have an opportunity to profit and protect assets. This presentation will briefly examine the nature of the Year 2000 problem and how it will affect individuals, corporations, and governments.

Bill Swiderek and Iris Brackett are both financial advisors with Prudential Securities. Bill Swiderek is also a nationally published author on computer subjects, holds a Masters degree in Information Systems, and has over 18 years experience in the computer industry. Iris Brackett has over 20 years experience in the financial markets.

They will also look at the most likely impact on various investments from U.S. Treasury bonds to precious metals to the stock market. Will investments go up or down? Are there investments that may do well? What about international investments? Is your IRA safe? Should you re-allocate your 401(k) or annuity investments?

Finally, Bill and Iris will take a brief look at investment strategies to start off the new millennium.

--> Nonmembers Welcome! <--

Note: This is a repeat "by popular demand" of the presentation Bill and Iris gave at the NMNWSE Annual meeting, which hopefully will help you make more informed choices when considering Y2K modifications to your investment portfolio: it does not constitute an endorsement by LAWIS or LANL of Prudential Securities or of any investment strategies discussed.

Sideroom C is reserved from 11:30 to 1:30 for people who like to eat earlier or later, and informal discussion. You are welcome to come for just the talk at noon, and questions are encouraged!
