Reducing the Global Nuclear Threat --
The Los Alamos Nonproliferation Mission


Sara Scott, N Division Director, will speak about the various programs in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division (N Division) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), including a description of the global threat context in which the work occurs. N Division's technologies and expertise are applied to supporting the international nonproliferation regime (measuring nuclear materials and assuring their accountability), monitoring borders and points of entries for the illicit transit of nuclear materials, supporting export control, analyzing developments in foreign countries for signs of clandestine weapons development, understanding technical needs for treaty implementation, and other activities.
