Our Annual Meeting and Technical Symposium, held each fall, provides an opportunity to present technical papers in a supportive environment. It also provides professional development and networking opportunities.
The 2014 NMNWSE Technical Symposium and Annual Meeting (AM 2014)
will be held 17-19 October 2014
at the historic Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
See below for meeting details.
The 8th Annual NMNWSE IMPACT! Award will be presented at the Meeting.

Nomination deadline: Sep 15, 2014.  Past winners are not eligible.

BREAKING NEWS:  Jan Frigo has been selected as the 2014 IMPACT! Award winner.
A press release summarizing Jan's contributions is posted on the IMPACT! Award webpage.
The FY 2014-15 NMNWSE Board, serving Oct 2014-Oct 2015, will be elected at the Meeting.
Please contact the NMNWSE Board if you would be interested in helping with Board activities.

Meeting Details:
The 2014 meeting will be held at the Plaza Hotel, one of the most notable of over 900 Las Vegas buildings listed in the National Register of Historic places. Called "The Belle of the Southwest" when it was built in 1882, the Plaza Hotel was lovingly restored a century later. This magnificent hotel, suspended gracefully in the past, presides regally over the Old Town Plaza. After lunch Saturday, meeting attendees will have a chance to tour a nearby university and learn about area STEM education and outreach programs (details TBA)
The Technical Sessions in the afternoon are an excellent opportunity for NMNWSE members to network and present their work in a supportive atmosphere.
Dinner features presentation of the IMPACT! Award, followed by a keynote speaker from a local university highlighting her research - topics being considered range from Bison Genetics to Fire Ecology.
